The birthday cake had a beautiful picture of horses, which tasted good, too! We had to take the cake into the camper to get the candles to stay lit long enough for Katie to make a big wish!

Here's Kate opening her gifts, one of which was a giant red snake!!!!

It was two tired boys who drove back home over the Cheasapeake Bay Tunnel Bridge.

Here are some pictures of Katie enjoying her 7th birthday with Grandpa. We had a fantastic weekend camping at Assateague - lots of ponies and one even walked through the campsite! I unfortunately forgot my camera, so hopefully Amy will post some pictures.

The cousins are together again - a quick trip south by Laura and the girls to collect "Poppie" the pop-up camper.

It was a beautiful afternoon - highs in the mid 80s. So how did the kids amuse themselves? Playing poker!!! It was high stakes, too - jewelry made it into the pot during one hand!

The girls got a bit of spring fever the other day, but we still needed to finish school. I agreed to allow reading time outside and when I went to check on them this is what I found! Can you do that in public school???

We had an exciting Sunday - while scootering with our new friend Zoey, Maddy hit a bump. I think that the scooter won! Our dentist was kind enough to put her all back together again....

Easter at the Little's

The Kreiling's had a great time visiting Philadelphia for Easter 2006. Along with all the fun of dyeing eggs and finding them, we visited the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross' home and some interesting parts of south Philadelphia (thanks, Laura!). Oh, we also had Philly cheese steaks - yummy. Finally, the puppy dogs were returned to their rightful owners - after 9 months visiting their cousins, Bear and Scooter were happy to be home.

We went to the Glencairen Castle and Cathedral today. Some wealthy family had a liking for the Middle Ages and built a castle for his collection of medieval stuff. Yes, his family did live in the castle! The girls are in front of the castle and then they are learning to carve stone. All the stones & iron work was hand-done in the early 1900's. They even made stained glass windows the same way as in the Middle Ages. I guess when you have a ton of money....

Here are pictures from our trip down south. Heading out, we had all that snow! Then the four cousins heading off to see Stomp for Nicky's birthday. The last is Maddy capturing the essence of Sam! :)

We enjoyed our Saturday by exploring a new State Park. It was a gorgeous day in the high 70's. We even met a golden retreiver named Ginger and the owner was nice enough to let us throw a stick for her. The picture of the tree with the light coming through is Maddy's masterpiece.

This is the latest creation from the girls. They found a cake book at the library and decided we needed to make something. Just our luck, we were invited to a party so we made the spooky Halloween cake. While Kate had some downtime, she created this M&M masterpiece in the other picture!
